I can’t recommend this place enough! Please visit this store if you are in Funchal! There are clothes for everyone, books, vinyls, home decorations as well as handmade things made by the owner. The experience touched my heart, the owner is too kind for this world and by donating things there or just by buying something, we help her to help the ones in need. Decided to check out this thrift shop during my holiday, and it was absolutely delightful! Iola was a gem. She was engaging with all of her customers and shared that the mission of the stores to help others, including the unhoused. The selection is curated and top quality. She has a passion for making videos and delighting customers. A must stop during your visit to town!! ~ Alby C

A hidden gem for vintage lovers and a great cause: Estime is the only charity shop I came across while visiting Madeira, and it turned out to be a real treasure. When I travel, I love seeking out second-hand and vintage stores. it’s my favourite way to bring home a meaningful souvenir and Estime definitely delivered. The shop itself is spacious with a carefully curated selection of clothes, accessories, and unique finds. The back room, in particular, is a treat: beautiful gowns from the '70s and '80s, along with some handmade pieces by the owner herself. The woman who runs Estime is clearly passionate about upcycling and repair everything from clothes to little teddy bears with holes gets a second life here. Even better, proceeds go toward helping the homeless, so your purchase supports a good cause. We had a really thoughtful chat about the stigma some people still feel around second-hand shopping. Personally, I love when someone compliments my outfit and I can say, “Thanks, it’s all second-hand!” it’s kinder to the environment and your wallet. Definitely worth a visit if you’re on the island and appreciate sustainable fashion or just want to support a good cause. ~ Penny L

Great thrift store. The only one we were able to find in Funchal. Sadly, there is almost no men's selection. Except for clothes the have bizarre retro stuff for your home. I was able to find opera glasses, crazy cutlery, or a skateboard. Even tho the cashier know almost no English, she was supper friendly and we felt welcome there. ~ Jarda

Really nice shop with a lot of different clothes, books and anything else you can lose your heart to. Got myself a very nice blouse! The money they earn is going to fund food for homeless people, dog shelters etc. and the owner also provides clothes and sleeping bags for those in need! Really lovely project!! ~ Nina S

Great local charity /pre-loved store . Very well organised with lots of mainly woman’s clothing , books , kids clothes and toys and household items. It has to be said that as local women tend toward the smaller sizes , a lot of the stuff is typically size 14 and under ~ Nuntius U
